War for Cybertron: Siege | Mirage

03.06.2020 – The Last Wave of Siege from the first part of War For Cybertron was colorful and surprisingly impressive at the same time underappreciated. This is due to distribution depends in every country. The Deluxe Class range was the most sought after aside from the rarity of most Voyager Class in the same wave.

Mirage is one of those much awaited characters getting an upgrade to the last figure was from Combiner Wars, which was not entirely an original figure but based on Stunticon Dragstrip. The new Siege version is based on its cartoon model from the classic cartoon and also one of the most sought after figure from the fourth wave.

Power of the Primes | Dinobot Slug

12.11.2019 – Power of the Primes may be the last of the Prime Wars Trilogy and it gave something fans has been hoping for since Hasbro introduced their Generations range of figure assortment recreating what could be the modern G1 beyond the CHUG (Classics, Henkei, Universe, and Generations) toyline.

The Dinobots were the major favorites in this last part of the Prime Wars Trilogy and Hasbro delivered in bringing out the all-time favorites to the point that retail was sold out only a few were leftovers in the pegs as clearance before WFC: Siege was released months later. Dinobot Slug is no exception featured in this spotlight!

Power of the Primes | Beachcomber

03.08.2018 – The Transformers brand is entering its last installment in the “Prime Wars Trilogy” that is “Power of the Primes” that started availability on the first wave appearing late in December 2017 to early January 2018. The anticipation of the characters based from the G1 modernized for this Generation ranges of assortment has reinvigorated the brand despite mixed reactions.

With “Power of the Primes” brings in also nostalgia factor representing old characters in a new light some of them where brought back but not exactly their original appearance. For Beachcomber, this character gets a modern update based from the minibot from 1985 with new sculpting and design aligned with the Generation toyline by Hasbro.

Titans Return | Wheelie

01.12.2017 – Wheelie is one of the characters introduced in “Transformers: The Movie” from 1986, which was sort of one of the minor low points of that memorable film after giving kids of this generation the Death of Optimus Prime.

This was also the time they introduced a slew of new characters in turn killing off the ones that fans have grown up to like which was also a travesty. Fast forward to the present Hasbro re-introduce some of those 1986 characters in Titans Return!

Happy Meal Spotlight: TF RiD Grimlock!

09.01.2015 – Grimlock is one of the iconic characters in Transformers culture. Well known in the Generation One as well as various incarnation of the character has appeared in other series. But they’re not all related unless you’re a character fan.

The latest iteration of the famous dinobot appears in the 2015 series “Transformers: Robots in Disguise” not to be mistaken from the Japanese produced series in 2001. This latest McDonald’s Happy Meal features the Robots in Disguise’s Grimlock!

Generations: "Thrilling 30" Orion Pax!

12.26.2014 – In the original cartoon Orion Pax was a dock worker and in other media like from the Dreamwave and IDW published comic books he’s known as an archivist. It depends on which form of media you followed but overall he would became Prime.

Spotlight Drift Director's Cut: Drifting Through Life!

11.26.2014 – Before you pick up Drift: Empire of the Sun #1 mini-series (now available at your local shops) there’s something you should definitely need to get first. For those who have only come to know Drift in his debut in last summer’s Transformers: Age of Extinction this film is not his first appearance.

Usually in the mainstream a lot of fans who followed the live action films are not familiar with the character having been an original creation first appeared in IDW Publishing’s All Hail Megatron #5 in 2007. The 12 issue maxi-series introduced the sword wielding Autobot by creators Shane McCarthy and Guido Guidi.

Originally Drift would turn out to be an exclusive comic book only character, but there was a following that build-up that IDW went out and gave more back story in what would Transformers Spotlight: Drift a one-shot issue that tells the story how he joined the motley crew of the Wreckers under Kup’s leadership.

In this issue Drift was a mystery character that just came out of nowhere. Well until he revealed himself in front of a well-armed Autobot commandos. His mission was to take down a Cybertronian ship that was commanded by a Decepticon named Turmoil (another in-comic book character exclusive from IDW).

Generations: "Thrilling 30" Crosscut!

11.01.2014 – The Transformers toyline representing the modern G1 officially known as Generations continue to produce some of the best figures. Hasbro has continued to churn up some of the most sought after characters that some never makes it in toy shelves.

In the Philippines it has become difficult some of those second tier characters unless you know the next distribution will be released by Playkit (the country’s local distributor for most Hasbro products). But there are those who are relatively unknown that’s based from an original figure with minor retool like Crosscut not an original G1 character.

Power Core Combiners: Heavytread & Groundspike!

09.30.2014 – Heavytread is an unfamiliar Transformers character and part of the Power Core Combiners toy line. He’s a Power Core Combiner Commander (now that’s a mouthful) which can combine with drone sets from other characters released.

The Power Core Combiners where not entirely known that it never moved toy shelves.

If you’re into interchanging drones and Mini-Con weapons just for fun this line of Transformers might be something to take up your time to set and display.

HFTD Voyager Class: "Classic" Sea Spray!

08.21.2014 – Sea Spray is part of the “Hunt for the Decepticon” toy line that follows the “Revenge of the Fallen” series of action figures. But for those who are looking for a modern Generation One version they say this Sea Spray is the one you should be looking for.

It was released sometime in 2010 and later in the Philippines this figure ended up on clearance for more than half of its retail price point.

There has been little interest about the character being placed as part of the Movie 2’s expansion toy line but that’s being explained…

Throwback Thirst-Day: Pepsi Convoy!

07.24.2014 – If you’ve been a long time Transformers Fan to see some early releases in the 1980s you won’t be surprised about the collaboration with Hasbro and another brand shall we say Pepsi. For those who have been drinking another beverage maybe it’s time you support Pepsi Convoy.

Transformers had been once had a tie-up with the famous soda beverage in 1985 when they released a redeco of the original Optimus Prime toy with Pepsi stickers featured on the side of the trailer. Twenty years later in 2005 Takara has similar in mind only this time Optimus Prime delivers Pepsi.

MP-21 Bumblebee Size Comparison Image!

03.25.2014 – Bumblebee is sort of a cultural icon on its own having been one of the main characters in the Transformers mythology. What makes him popular is his famous alternate vehicle mode THAT of a classic Volkswagen Beetle.

Throughout the years nobody expected that Transformers would have resurgence in new fan interest in the brand.

Recently Takara Tomy just caught everyone off guard and released what could be the official photo for the next Masterpiece that of Bumblebee.

Generations (Asia Exclusive): Cliffjumper!

08.10.2013 – Cliffjumper is one tough Autobot who just doesn’t like traitors and even in his diminutive size he’s courageous enough to take on the biggest Decepticon. Carrying a weapon known as the “Glass Gas” (which embrittles metals on contact so that they shatter like glass).

He’s not immune to its effects but always have an alternative like bigger guns as seen in the classic series pilot “More Than Meets Eye”, and he’s not a calculating type when it comes to taking on the enemy. In the original vintage release he transforms into a Porsche 924 Turbo now he’s a muscle car.

VC Generations Sandstorm VTOL Revealed!

05.14.2013 – Thanks to TFPH member Richard Besana who shared an image of Sandstorm’s VTOL mode that was left a mystery in the previous revelation when the figure’s product photo appeared in the Transformers official Facebook page. This was immediately removed then re-posted again official yesterday.

Now it’s shows how heavily Sandstorm was a retool/redeco of Voyager Class Springer that was recently available on retail along with Blitzwing.

Some details about the VTOL mode dates back to the revelation of Generations Metroplex product box with the art during New York Toy Fair.

VC Generations Sandstorm Teaser Images!

05.12.2013 – The Transformers 30th Anniversary Edition toys has finally reached the Philippines and it’s been out for the past two weeks.

Most notable figures in the assortment are the Voyager Class Triple Changes in Blitzwing and Springer.

Previously the Classics line has produced Deluxe Class Astrotrain (2006) and Universe Tankor who used to have an original name as Octane. This leaves Broadside and Sandstorm not having modern versions of their figure…

Dream Tomica: Transformers Bumblebee

03.24.2013 – The Urbana 500 muscle car is a fictional vehicle that was scanned by Bumblebee as his Earth vehicle upon arriving to the planet in the Transformers Prime TV series. It was sort of inspired based from the Chevrolet Camaro that the movie version Bumblebee has adapted in subsequent live action films.

Dream Tomica a special series of pop culture vehicles where they acquired the rights to manufacture its die cast cars has include Transformers Prime to the list as part of the collectible that includes Hello Kitty, Pokemon, and Batman to name a few.

Generation One: Ultra Magnus!

10.08.2012 – In the year 1986 when Hasbro was pushing to promote the animated movie they also came out with a new wave of Transformers toys. Ultra Magnus was introduced as the leader of the Autobots taking resident in the Autobot City on Earth.

Of course the setting was in the year 2005 and countless long-time fans of the franchise have seen Optimus Prime die in this movie and cried to share that story. Ultra Magnus’ character in the TV series was far more interesting when it was told in the comic books and definitely more than meets the eye!

MP-12 Lambor (Sideswipe) First Teaser Photo!

06.09.2012 – Toy designer Shugoi Hasui ealier tweeted the first glimpse of MP-12 Lambor (Sidewipe) we previously reported that the Volkswagen Group has given approval to use the likeness of the “Lamborghini New Countach LPS500s” for its alternate mode.

Another reveal to the upcoming MP-12 Masterpiece is that Takara will release more info of the said figure in The International Tokyo Show which also mentions the release of MP-13 Soundwave.
