TF Cybertron | Beast Megatron

Megatron is the baddest Cybertronian that others emulate his villainy in the next iteration of the Transformers series. In Beast Wars, there was a new Megatron, though not as brutal as the original this one had personality and idolized him to the point taking the name meant more than just mere influence.

In the last part of the Unicron Trilogy there was also a Megatron, but this one was supposed to be taking the form of a “Beast Wars character” when the Decepticons reached the Jungle Planet.

At that time Hasbro was set to celebrate Beast Wars 10th Anniversary by producing an all-new Beast Megatron, which resulted in this figure that didn't get notice only BW fans would know.

TF Animated | Autobot Blurr

Blurr is a fast-talking and quick moving Autobot appearing in various parts of media beginning with the 1986 animated Transformers: The Movie voice by John Moschitta well known for Galoob’s Micromachines and Federal Express commercials in the 1980s. To sum up Blurr is what DC ComicsThe Flash to Marvel’s Quicksilver. But the character’s appearance in the animated film won’t end there.

There have been many interpretations of the character during the Unicron Trilogy, but none of them even have a semblance or inspiration based from the original character that Moschitta has voiced. No until in 2008 when Hasbro and Cartoon Network collaborated in producing Transformers: Animated.

War for Cybertron: Siege | Mirage

03.06.2020 – The Last Wave of Siege from the first part of War For Cybertron was colorful and surprisingly impressive at the same time underappreciated. This is due to distribution depends in every country. The Deluxe Class range was the most sought after aside from the rarity of most Voyager Class in the same wave.

Mirage is one of those much awaited characters getting an upgrade to the last figure was from Combiner Wars, which was not entirely an original figure but based on Stunticon Dragstrip. The new Siege version is based on its cartoon model from the classic cartoon and also one of the most sought after figure from the fourth wave.

TF Sightings | SM MoA TK & TKExpress

02.19.2020 - Sometimes the best places to find the Transformers figure that you missed are the location that had enough foot traffic and it is off the radar namely before going south bound. In case you’re in the hunt for the latest wave from Siege and Cyberverse maybe it must be the right timing for you to find it at Toy Kingdom in SM MoA.

There are only two stores in SM Mall of Asia and that’s in Toy Kingdom and TK Express inside The SM Store (Department Store). Rarely, there is something worth the trip to this place unless they have restocked the latest Transformers from War For Cybertron and the animated series in Cyberverse which was sighted today!

TF Sightings | Virra Mall & Galleria

02.17.2020 – If you’re Manila-based toy collector chances are you already are familiar with the places around the metro. The usual places people frequent are the most accessible part of Greenhills, which is the mecca for anything that collector’s from other countries want to make the trip.

But sometimes the retail stores nearby are sometimes overlooked for new Transformers toys by Hasbro that are distributed by Playkit Inc, which recently had brought the War For Cybretron: Siege Wave 4 Deluxe Class assortment that some thought that was exclusive only to some parts of Southeast Asia and Australasia.

War For Cybertron: Siege | Spinister

12.28.2019 – There have been notable characters presented in the War For Cybertron: Siege and then there are those gems that made the mythology interesting. Not all character appeared in the G1 cartoon series, but there are popular ones that had a tremendous spotlight in the comicbooks that defined who they are in the narrative.

Spinister, a Double Targetmaster is one of them and with spinning sinister name you bet there a mystery behind the character more than meets the eye. There have been several iterations of Spinister and toy form, but none captures the character based from its original G1 toy and how he was defined in the graphic novels.

The Dinobots were the major favorites in this last part of the Prime Wars Trilogy and Hasbro delivered in bringing out the all-time favorites to the point that retail was sold out only a few were leftovers in the pegs as clearance before WFC: Siege was released months later. Dinobot Slug is no exception featured in this spotlight!

It was first announced during the San Diego Comicon in 2018 introducing the First Wave assortment of characters that include Sideswipe as part of Deluxe Class. Sideswipe, of course has been an iconic character in the TF mythology that doesn’t need any introduction, but for new fans here’s a look at this Autobot!

Titans Return | Chasm with Quake

07.18.2018 – The Titans Return tail end releases where mostly retool and repainted characters reusing pre-existing molds that were the basis from the first wave releases. Interesting enough some of these characters is interesting as the toys themselves that kept this toyline going for most that collected hem all.

Decepticon Quake is one of those characters that stood out from the second to the last wave of Deluxe Class assortments for Titans Return. Not because Hasbro has recently announced that Power of the Primes that completes the Prime Wars Trilogy this figure started being included on the clearance isle in Australia.

TF Spotlight: Animated Prowl!

08.06.2015 – “Transformers: Animated” is considered one of the well-known franchise for the Transformers Brand to produced innovative action figures based from the aesthetics of the cartoon.

It’s also remarkable how this is challenging for Takara Tomy engineers to translate the designs done by Cartoon Network and Hasbro in toy form. This is one of those toylines that defined how Hasbro is making toys moving forward and at the same time had a short lived animated series.

The toyline’s gimmick is simply the transformation and its highly articulated figures just like Prowl

Generations: "Thrilling 30" Orion Pax!

12.26.2014 – In the original cartoon Orion Pax was a dock worker and in other media like from the Dreamwave and IDW published comic books he’s known as an archivist. It depends on which form of media you followed but overall he would became Prime.

But the version that depicted in the Deluxe Class released Generations toyline commemorating 30 years of Transformers is based on the Spotlight comic book by IDW Publication. But there’s more than meets the eye who is Orion Pax…

Generations: "Thrilling 30" Crosscut!

11.01.2014 – The Transformers toyline representing the modern G1 officially known as Generations continue to produce some of the best figures. Hasbro has continued to churn up some of the most sought after characters that some never makes it in toy shelves.

In the Philippines it has become difficult some of those second tier characters unless you know the next distribution will be released by Playkit (the country’s local distributor for most Hasbro products). But there are those who are relatively unknown that’s based from an original figure with minor retool like Crosscut not an original G1 character.

Generations: "Thrilling 30" Trailcutter!

07.14.2014 – You’ve probably have read the Transformers Spotlight featuring Trailcutter and how he adapted that name from being known as Trailbreaker. There hasn't been a modern version of the character until 2010 when Hasbro released a Legend Class figure bearing the name Trailcutter.

Hasbro has been anticipating the 30th anniversary of the TRANSFORMERS brand and they don’t want fans excited. But Trailcutter was one of those characters who finally got their modern Generation One figure that was released along with Bumblebee, Megatron, & Orion Pax.

The Deluxe Class first wave has an interesting line up that includes Autobot Drift!

Generations: FoC Sideswipe!

01.28.2014 – Sideswipe is one of the original characters from the cartoon series, who boarded the Ark bound or planet Earth. Everyone who grew up watching the classic series would remember the red Lamborghini Countach LP500 S.

In the Fall of Cybertron you’ll see a different Sideswipe when you play the game. He transforms into a native cybertronic red sports car. There’s a lot of back story being told when you play Fall of Cybetron and revealing Sideswipe origins was of them.

Beast Wars NEO: C-36 Mach Kick!

01.24.2014 – This year would be in the Chinese Zodiac calendar as “Year of the Horse” and Hasbro has taken advantage in marketing Transformers in their “premium” editions. Previously you’ve seen the “Year of the Dragon” and “Year of Snake” releases.

But what if Hasbro literally released a “Year of the Horse” Transformer? It would be great as Takara previously had released a Transformer, which turned into a horse back in 1999 when Beast Wars was popular with robots turning into animals. Takara expanded that concept and idea to two Beast Wars series that was not shown in the US…

Generations (Asia Exclusive): Cliffjumper!

08.10.2013 – Cliffjumper is one tough Autobot who just doesn’t like traitors and even in his diminutive size he’s courageous enough to take on the biggest Decepticon. Carrying a weapon known as the “Glass Gas” (which embrittles metals on contact so that they shatter like glass).

He’s not immune to its effects but always have an alternative like bigger guns as seen in the classic series pilot “More Than Meets Eye”, and he’s not a calculating type when it comes to taking on the enemy. In the original vintage release he transforms into a Porsche 924 Turbo now he’s a muscle car.
