TF Sightings | TRU Robinsons Galleria

There’s not many new sightings nearby Makati area, but suddenly in some places where not most people thread to visit you find that some of the retail stores get their new wave of Legacy unnoticed. It’s not that the global market is changing after the pandemic it’s all about market strategy for most stores like Toy Kingdom.

And just that, The Wave 2 Deluxe and Commander Class has a subtle appearance in a place, where rarely is an off-grid place. But for those passionate enough they won’t let any stone unturned and this new world is certainly a challenging one to find these on display are most of the time do not make it to the display since TK has already shopping for their customers on Viber.

Generations Selects | Hubcap

Transformers are a big franchise not only for its expanded universe spilling over various media from graphic novels and videogames, but also a plethora of characters that rarely gets a spotlight. Some of them are just background characters that in the original G1 animated series are also mistaken error.

But since most of the characters never got screen time in the original cartoon their stories are told in the comicbooks originally published by Marvelm its UK piblication, then by Dreamwave, and now with IDW Publishing. Hubcap is one of these characters are considered deep cut from this expanding TF universe.

TF Cybertron | Beast Megatron

Megatron is the baddest Cybertronian that others emulate his villainy in the next iteration of the Transformers series. In Beast Wars, there was a new Megatron, though not as brutal as the original this one had personality and idolized him to the point taking the name meant more than just mere influence.

In the last part of the Unicron Trilogy there was also a Megatron, but this one was supposed to be taking the form of a “Beast Wars character” when the Decepticons reached the Jungle Planet.

At that time Hasbro was set to celebrate Beast Wars 10th Anniversary by producing an all-new Beast Megatron, which resulted in this figure that didn't get notice only BW fans would know.

War For Cybertron: Siege | Rescue Patrol

The Autobots has taken form of cars, trucks, boats, and aircraft. Mostly, they are also recognizable as emergency crews and rescue vehicles with the exception of Barricade that changed the dynamic as the first Decepticon to be able to disguise as a law enforcement vehicle in the movies and now with Siege.

But despite all that there are still Autobots that continue to take the form of Police and Fire Rescue like these two Micromasters introduced in the second wave of War for Cybertron: Siege in 2018-2019 release. The Rescue Patrol Team has been known for not only its name, but the team behind it. They make their return as part of the characters introduced in this new trilogy from the franchise.

TF Animated | Autobot Blurr

Blurr is a fast-talking and quick moving Autobot appearing in various parts of media beginning with the 1986 animated Transformers: The Movie voice by John Moschitta well known for Galoob’s Micromachines and Federal Express commercials in the 1980s. To sum up Blurr is what DC ComicsThe Flash to Marvel’s Quicksilver. But the character’s appearance in the animated film won’t end there.

There have been many interpretations of the character during the Unicron Trilogy, but none of them even have a semblance or inspiration based from the original character that Moschitta has voiced. No until in 2008 when Hasbro and Cartoon Network collaborated in producing Transformers: Animated.

TF Sightings | Toy Kingdom in SM Makati

War for Cybertron: Kingdom is slowly getting restocked in selected retail stores in Metro Manila. But is it enough to give the market the demand it needs? Well, depends on which area you’re located, but the local distributor continues to make sure there are enough for everyone despite growing numbers of interest for the toy brand that made Hasbro continue to make toys for the big boys.

Despite the challenging logistic demand is it enough? The third installment of the War Far Cybertron Trilogy in Kingdom has had a rough start being stocked late in January 202i making them fly off the shelves instantaneously not even lasting a week. For those who had limited access to this product there is hope.

TF Sightings | Landmark & TRU Glorietta

By now everyone is getting the first wave of WFC: Kingdom, which started appearing in local retail at the tail end of January 2021. But not all stores have it as most that get the stock are the ones that get foot traffic. With the pandemic continues in 2021 there will be stores that receive restocks. Though, not enough to fulfill the market in areas that still needs to have them.

In the stores in Makati City, there are quite a few that gets them on the shelves. Most of the first wave for WFC: Kingdom is broken up. Some of the highly sought after characters don’t actually make it to the display it is either that the product gets bought online or it was not included in the delivery. This is just an update on both stores with Landmark and Toys R’ Us in Glorietta...

TF Sightings | Babes Children's World

01.26.2020 – In case you haven’t been to Babes Children’s World, a specialty toy store which is located in the second level of Virra Mall in Greenhills has been around importing and also selling toys from local distributors in the Philippines. The last time sighting reports on what they have in stock was almost eight months ago.

This time just a quick look at the store’s available assortments from the Transformers brand at the same time a sneak peek of their other products that you may find here. Interesting enough as an alternative for those who can’t find the character or toy that they can’t get at local retail is the second or third best thing to make a visit.

TF Sightings | Babes Children's World

05.29.2019 – In Metro Manila there have so many options for collectors to acquire their coveted toys ranging from diecast cars to high end actions figures. Local retail is fairly standard default option for anything that appears in every toy shelf in the country. But sometimes it’s quite a challenge if the one you looking for is sold out.

There are A LOT of specialty shops out there that offer the same toys, but sometimes the price is not about right. You’d be surprised that some of the toys that already disappeared in toy shelves end up in those stores, but not Babes Children’s World.

In the three mentioned the most sought after is the Transformers Legends LG-25, which Takara Tomy version of Titans Masters Autobot Hot Rod that was only available in selected markets outside Japan until it became available locally.

Power of the Primes | Quintus Prime with Bludgeon

05.23.2019 – Power of the Primes has an interesting play feature that connects the brand’s previous toyline and its present interest for the expansion of the modern reinterpretation for the Generations overall range of figures and assortment.

The Titans Return might be the modern Headmasters for this toyline.

The Prime Masters could probably a combination of concepts that collaborative with an “engine” concept of the Power Masters and Pretenders themes to complete the Prime Wars Trilogy with the idea of how they address the thirteen Primes story.

Power of the Primes | Micronus with Cloudburst

07.23.2018 – Power of the Primes toyline just like its animated series will cease to end, but that doesn’t mean the toys will be immediately discontinued as some markets they’ve started to be sold on clearance as news on the next Generations range of assortment will be the next hot topic for 2019.

But with all that fans still not getting enough about Power of the Primes, the tail end of this toyline still bring nostalgia to long-time fans taking back to the late 1980s with inspiration to the Titan Masters for the series taking the form having their individual Pretender shells or Decoy Armor and one of them is Micronus!

TF Sightings | Toys R' Us Noarlunga

02.20.2017 – Over the weekend a drive to Toys R’ Us Noarlunga was unprecedented as a rare opportunity to see what this store have when it comes to the Transformers brand. It’s surprising that the have something that Big W, Kmart, Target or even Myer doesn’t have that makes it even more interesting.

The stores in Australia are diverse but not as complete like the ones in the Philippines or not even closely similar to the stores in South Korea.

But definitely you get to see something there that’s worth the trip if you really have found that Transformer toy.

Legion Class | RID Fixit!

12.24.2016 – Fixit, one of the lead characters in the 2015 series “Robots in Disguise” which for some might mistake this Autobot as the former Gobots character named Scooter. But it doesn’t help that he’s one of those underrated Autobots that’s easily forgotten if you only knew Bumblebee and his “Bee Team.”

But then again you might think this is all a big joke that Fixit looks like some guy from an old 1980s cartoon that tried to unseat the “Transformers” back in the day. The action figure looks cool looking though for being in-scale with the other characters.

TF Spotlight: Animated Prowl!

08.06.2015 – “Transformers: Animated” is considered one of the well-known franchise for the Transformers Brand to produced innovative action figures based from the aesthetics of the cartoon.

It’s also remarkable how this is challenging for Takara Tomy engineers to translate the designs done by Cartoon Network and Hasbro in toy form. This is one of those toylines that defined how Hasbro is making toys moving forward and at the same time had a short lived animated series.

The toyline’s gimmick is simply the transformation and its highly articulated figures just like Prowl

TF Sightings: TRU Platinum Exclusives!

07.03.2015 – Lately Transfromers are slowly getting an influx of Combiner Wars themed toyline under the Generations One. With the comic book published by IDW Publication in high gear expect more of this to appear in toy shelves.

In the Philippine the retail updates are slow, but whatever is left for the distributor to release for the mass retail that is what you’re going to get. This is for the reason some of the much anticipated figures are now being sold in the secondary market…

TF Fan Stories: What's an Autobot Pacifist?

06.14.2015 – Ever wonder what was your first Transformers? How did you acquire them or have a significant story that affects you personally? I got one story to share that has something about how Generation One toys was ahead of it time.

You see growing up it must be unnoticed to anyone but have you read the TECH SPEC cards found in the boxes of the figures? If you haven’t the way its written is rather complex for a 5 year old and yet interesting to realize their story…

TF Sightings: Leader Class Ultra Magnus!

05.29.2015 – The Combiner Wars is slowly creeping its way to local retail in the Philippines and if you haven’t gone around the city chances are you’re just waiting for someone to tip you in or ask for to look for them.

In other countries this will take a while or sometimes never made it to their stores, but surely you’ll have a keen eye in spotting the new stuff if stocks are in abundance. But if it’s a popular character like Ultra Magnus expect this Autobot to be everywhere.

TF Sightings at Westfield Marion!

12.31.2014 –In the city of Adelaide, South Australia there’s not much abundance of Transformers toys unlike in the Philippines, but there are some of the assortments that are available in retail that’s quite interesting that is something unique for this country.

There are selected TF toys sighted at Westfield Marion, where stores like Big W, K-Mart, Target, and Myer (A counterpart of Rustan’s in Australia) have some exclusive offerings that have not made it to Philippine retail that’s what makes them unique on their own.

Generations: "Thrilling 30" Orion Pax!

12.26.2014 – In the original cartoon Orion Pax was a dock worker and in other media like from the Dreamwave and IDW published comic books he’s known as an archivist. It depends on which form of media you followed but overall he would became Prime.

But the version that depicted in the Deluxe Class released Generations toyline commemorating 30 years of Transformers is based on the Spotlight comic book by IDW Publication. But there’s more than meets the eye who is Orion Pax…
