TF Spotlight: Orion Pax in "Omega's Conundrum!"

06.30.2014 – For long time Transformers fans everyone know who was Optimus Prime in a previous life, which was first seen in season 2 of the classic series. It also featured the story of the Aerialbots travelling back in time during the Golden Age of planet Cybertron.

There’s not much spotlight on Pre-Prime persona of Orion Pax that was only seen in the TF G1 series. IDW Publishing the current publisher for Transformers comic books had expanded that story through the ‘Transformers Spotlight’ series when they released a one-shot story in 2012.

This one-shot feature about Orion Pax was included in the Deluxe Class release of the same action figure along with Bumblebee, Trailcutter (formerly known as Trailbreaker), and Megatron (Stealth Jet ) celebrating the ‘Thrilling 30’ years of the Transformers Brand with a new cover.

It never was explained what really happened to Orion Pax when this was mentioned in this issue that he’s trying to get accustomed to his new body refit. This story takes place before the events of ‘Transformers: Autocracy’ (check your local comic shop for that graphic novel).

Moving Parts: More Than Meets The Eye # 30!

TALK about a big issue. It’s already been established that “Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye” (“TF:MTMTE”) is the best among IDW Publishing’s current TF comic book series.

Writer James Roberts has packed so much into this series that it feels like so much is happening at the same time.

“TF:MTMTE” # 30 is therefore the best issue of the series so far. Oh, where to begin? One of the series’ great mysteries is how Megatron—being tried on the Cybertronian moon Luna 2 for war crimes as leader of the Decepticons—got off without being executed and then appointed captain of The Lost Light as the quest for the Knights of Cybertron and Cyberutopia continued.

The previous issues had shown what happened before the trial and what happened after.

This issue fills in that huge gap. The solution is smart and ambitious; it just depends if you buy it or not. The turning point of the trial and the Megatron-as-captain development are all crammed into this issue and at times it’s almost like we’re spoiled for choice in terms of story. And, wow, Cybertronian law is weird.

'TRANSFORMERS: Age of Extinction' HK World Premiere Coverage!

06.26.2014 – TRANSFORMERS: Age of Extinction is now in cinemas and if you’re one of the few who were in Hong Kong last week. You’ll probably have seen the fireworks and the spectacle of the launching of the film plus a full scale Optimus Prime statue guarding the red carpet.

Hollywood descended in Hong Kong on June 19 for the world premiere of Michael Bay's “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” the fourth installment of the mega-blockbuster franchise. The much awaited robots in disguise has gone global with its world premiere happening in Asia.

Transformers Age of Extinction: The Very Good & Very Bad Movie Review!

TRANSFORMERS fans are secretly a patient and forgiving lot. Yes, they bellyache about seemingly the most obscure of details, but they understand that they are fortunate to be living in an age where the toy store shelves are overflowing with product, comic book stores feature regular TF issues and, of course, four major motion pictures featuring the titular toy brand.

That doesn’t mean that they will be accepting of everything, and that best sums up how hardcore fans will feel about “Transformers: Age of Extinction” (“TF: AOE”), the fourth TF film directed by Michael Bay.

TF Sightings: Dunkin Donuts TF4 Cup Toppers!

06.24.2014 – The TRANSFORMERS Age of Extinction steamrolls its screening in less than 48 hours and previous toy launches and merchandise has been revealed. It’s no surprise Hasbro is milking the property for all its worth to tie-up with some of the big names when it comes to merchandise.

In the Philippines whenever a new Transformers film has been promoted since 2007 there have been merchandise and meal toys from fast food restaurants. For ‘TF AOE’ Dunkin Donuts is promoting their Cup Toppers and also having an exclusive box depicting the characters around their product.

Mark Wahlberg Leads The Humans in Age of Extinction!

06.23.2014 – Cade Yeager is a new human character specifically replacing Shia Labeouf’s Sam Witwicky in the latest Transformers sequel ‘Age of Extinction’ who is more mature and a single father portrayed by Mark Wahlberg. He’s certainly a fresh perspective to see a human who can fight giant robots.

It’s no surprise how a former R&B artist in the 1990s turned serious actor would reboot the franchise. Wahlberg fits the role of a single father raising a teenage daughter in Michael Bay’s next TRANSFORMERS sequel filled with more explosions, robots, and visually MTV-esqued style kind of film.

Age of Extinction World Premiere in HK on June 19th!

06.18.2014 – It appears the battleground for TRANSFORMERS: Age of Extinction is not only happening in the United States, but also some parts in China and that means the World Premiere of the next sequel will be in Hong Kong where everyone will be present for the red carpet.

If you’re not reading on the product label the action figures are manufactured in China and there are also some toy exclusives being produced for this country. It means the brand is no longer just limiting itself for the US but rather going global and that’s something to look forward to the event...

Michael Bay Back with TF4 & New TMNT Movie!

06.16.2014 – When you mention Michael Bay the first thought comes to mind is the TRANSFORMERS franchise. Bay is known originally for action films that have lots of explosion and MTV-esque style of camera panning that some imitates.

Now the TRANSFORMERS director is back with AGE OF EXTINCTION the fourth film in the franchise. At the same time he’s the producer of another 1980s franchise based from the comic book series the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. Yes, he’s helming that too as producer coming this season...

Dirty Tricks: Robots in Disguise # 30!

Now that’s more like it. After rolling through the first parts of a plot that made the humans look genuinely dumb and the Cybertronians acting out of character, “Transformers: Robots in Disguise” (“TF: RID”) seems to be finding its rhythm again with issue # 30.

Written by John Barber and illustrated by Andrew Griffith (with flashback sequences by Casey Coller), “Earthfall Chapter 3: The Mind Bomb” has Prowl rejoining the Constructicons in forming Devastator 2.0 in order to turn the tide of the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons in Poverty Flats. As the battle threatens to spiral out of control, Earth Defense Command director Marissa Faireborn reveals that the humans have an ace up their sleeve: A mind bomb that can deactivate Cybertronian brains.

Unfortunately, it only works on minds the humans have scanned—so it will only work on the humans’ allies, the Decepticons (It was developed by Dr. Bharwaney, last seen helping out Bumblebee a few story arcs ago).

Faireborn does it anyway, ordering Skywarp to teleport the Decepticons away as she tries to contain the reappearance of the Cybertronians now that their cover seems blown.

TF4 to open in PH on June 25!

The much-anticipated "Transformers: Age of Extinction" finally has a confirmed release date for the Philippines! The Michael Bay-directed film will open in the United States on June 27.

Because of the Universal-Solar dispute in the Philippines--which caused the delayed opening of "Noah"--there was much concern that TF4 would be delayed--or even not shown at all. Filipino TF fans can breathe easy.

The Paramount Pictures website states that TF4 will open in the Philippines on June 26!

But the news gets even better!

"Transformers: Age of Extinction" will actually roll out into Philippine cinemas a day earlier -- on June 25, 2014 -- A good two days before it opens in the US!

TF Sightings: AOE Autobot Drift!

06.07.2014 – Transformers Age of Extinction has started appearing in Philippine retail store with a ‘silent’ toy launch prior to the film’s looming future due to dispute between Universal International Pictures and the former local distributor for the country.

But during the past few days it seems ‘all systems go’ as the first wave of Age of Extinction toys by Hasbro has started to fill up the empty shelves once occupied by Transformers Prime Beast Hunters.

The Deluxe Class first wave has an interesting line up that includes Autobot Drift!

TF 4: Age of Extinction BK WHOPPER® BOT Meal!

06.06.2014 – Transformers Age of Extinction is making a push for promotion, and the toys have already been out for the past week when it was launched in the Philippines. Besides the official Hasbro merchandise fast food restaurants will promote this.

Burger King has been synonymous with Transformers Movie since the first one in 2007, but in the Philippines it will be Jollibee who usually promotes it. This is given that they own the Burger King franchise locally so it’s impossible unless you’re from Singapore.

TF4's "Battle Cry" by Imagine Dragons!

06.06.2014 – Transformers Movies success not only in the action and the visuals that captures every fan’s imagination, the motion picture soundtrack sets the tone for the story which makes it interesting to see and hear.

For the first three films the soundtrack makes you recall what’s so interesting about Transformers.

If you grew up listening to the original 1986 animated film surely you won’t forget the songs ‘The Touch” by Stan Bush for TF4 you’ve got “Battle Cry” by Imagine Dragons…

TF SDCC 2014 Exclusive: Knights of Unicron!

06.05.2014 – The 1980s was the advent of glam rock and it was also the era where Transformers was first introduced.

You put two together and it might come out something outlandishly insane at the same time breaking out the normal routine.

Hasbro’s design team must have been the kids who grew up listening to glam rock.

Maybe it’s also that the soundtrack from the 1986 Transformers: The Movie might also have something to do with the release of the exclusive for this SDCC 2014.

That said this means Transformers: Age of Extinction is now on schedule for a Philippine release and just in time for the brands 30th anniversary. Hasbro has lined up some surprises for this year long celebration and Philippine fans haven’t scratched the surface.
