Movie Advanced: M4-002 Grimlock!

12.24.2014 – Grimlock is one of the popular characters in Transformers. This leader of the Dinobots has evolved over the years with various interpretation of the character from the animation, comic books, videogames and now the movie. In Transformers 4 he appears to a mystical character along with the Dinobots newly reinterpreted for the big screen. Though the character was not a hit with long time fans it clearly appeals to the younger generation how cool Grimlock can be.

TF Prime Beast Hunters: Shockwave!

12.01.2014 – Shockwave, the Military Operations Commander was left on planet Cybertron in the original cartoon. The one-eyed diabolical Decepticon’s only true loyalty will always be logic. The cold calculating scientist is one of the interesting characters in the classic Transformers series. His introduction in Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters is something more of a mad scientist that experiment on a lot of things. Just the previous version Shockwave don’t take sides, but only through logic is his true path just way his toy form does the same.

HFTD Voyager Class: "Classic" Sea Spray!

08.21.2014 – Sea Spray is part of the “Hunt for the Decepticon” toy line that follows the “Revenge of the Fallen” series of action figures. But for those who are looking for a modern Generation One version they say this Sea Spray is the one you should be looking for. It was released sometime in 2010 and later in the Philippines this figure ended up on clearance for more than half of its retail price point. There has been little interest about the character being placed as part of the Movie 2’s expansion toy line but that’s being explained…

Transformers Prime: Ultra Magnus!

07.31.2014 – Ultra Magnus is military strategist and the leader of the Wreckers in Transformers Prime. He appears in the second episode ("Scattered") of the third season with a subtitle ‘Beast Hunters’ and voiced by Michael Ironside (Top Gun, Starship Troopers, SeaQuest DSV, X-Men: First Class). It’s fitting for Ironside to take the voice role of Ultra Magnus once famously held by the great Robert Stack in the 1986 animated film. Of course this version of Magnus has more military background done just a soldier quite like his role in SeaQuest DSV taking the leadership role in the absence of Optimus.

Generations: "Thrilling 30" Sandstorm!

11.20.2013 – Sandstorm is one of those second or third tier characters that were introduced in the 3rd season of the original Generations One cartoon. This was after the 1986 animated movie set in the year 2010. In the cartoons Sandstorm has rare screen time unlike the main Autobots that was introduced in the movie. Sandstorm is known as a member of the Wreckers an Autobot subgroup revealed more back story in the comic books published by Marvel in the 1980s.

Sightings: New Toy Kingdom at SM Aura Premier!

05.24.2013 – If you missed the opening of Toy Kingdom’s latest store last May 17th at the brand new mall at the Fort Bonifacio in Taguig chances are you could have been there already. The latest store is big and the shelves are spread out not bunched up like you’re in a library. When you see the entrance the first thing you’ll notice is the human size Bumblebee in the glass window greeting the kids behind the glass. The toy section has only have half the space for Transformers related products aligned with the other robots.

VC Generations Sandstorm VTOL Revealed!

05.14.2013 – Thanks to TFPH member Richard Besana who shared an image of Sandstorm’s VTOL mode that was left a mystery in the previous revelation when the figure’s product photo appeared in the Transformers official Facebook page. This was immediately removed then re-posted again official yesterday. Now it’s shows how heavily Sandstorm was a retool/redeco of Voyager Class Springer that was recently available on retail along with Blitzwing. Some details about the VTOL mode dates back to the revelation of Generations Metroplex product box with the art during New York Toy Fair.

05.12.2013 – The Transformers 30th Anniversary Edition toys has finally reached the Philippines and it’s been out for the past two weeks. Most notable figures in the assortment are the Voyager Class Triple Changes in Blitzwing and Springer. Previously the Classics line has produced Deluxe Class Astrotrain (2006) and Universe Tankor who used to have an original name as Octane. This leaves Broadside and Sandstorm not having modern versions of their figure… Well until Seibetron.com has reported this breaking news…

TF Prime Beast Hunters: Predaking!

Presenting the Voyager Class Predaking, leader of the Predacons from the new Transformers Beast Hunters series.

Predaking's wiki actually has a quote from him going "My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail is a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death!"

Too bad Ultra Magnus kicked his butt and he had to retreat without having killed Wheeljack and all he could do was growl when Starscream made a snide comment about his failure.

Quite an inglorious debut for, as Shockwave put it, "The Ultimate Autobot Hunter"

Though I suppose Predaking did kick Optimus Prime's butt so badly that the Hammer wielding Ultra Magnus had to be introduced. (I swear if they use this to introduce a Rodimus Prime, someone will die).

Sightings: Generations 30th Anniversary Releases!

05.03.2013 – In the last two days the new Generations toys celebrating 30 years of Transformers has started to appear on retail stores like Toys r’ Us and Toy Kingdom in Metro Manila. The new Generations that were sighted is the Voyager Calss assortment in Blitzwing and Springer which was launched over the weekend through distribution release by Playkit. There were also Generations in Legends Class scale in Optimus Prime and Bumblebee having companions in Roller and Blaze Master going for PhP 700.00 pesos. Though the price is not entirely justifiable they seem to fit to the upcoming Metroplex in September.

Generations: FoC Grimlock!

Presenting the Fall of Cybertron (FOC) Grimlock! One of the best - if not the best - thing to come out of the Transformers Fall of Cybertron is, hands-down - is being able to play the Mighty King, Grimlock!

And what a character he is to play! Grimlock is a walking tank, he shrugs off damage, grabs Decepticons and repeatedly stabs them with his Bastard Sword to recover health or use them as handheld weapons or thrown projectiles, and has a nigh-impenetrable shield to keep him safe. He's a tank! A Lord of the Battlfield! While playing him, you can't help but mutter "Me Grimlock, King!"

And of course he commands the Dinobots who are all similarly tough and unstoppable forces of nature

Hunt for the Decepticons: "Battle Blades" Optimus Prime!

07.24.2011 - Optimus Prime. The Autobot Commander a prominent character in the Transfomers franchise. Prime has been almost in all reiteration of the series either in comics, animation, movie or video game. For every TransFan there’s one or two Optimus Prime in his/her collection. He was voiced by well known actors, but the most familiar for everyone to remember was Peter Cullen. He provided a father figure-esque personality in this 18-wheeler truck. He was the voice of the live action movie version inspiring the youth and any Sam Witwicky-wannabe.
