TF Sightings | Babes Children's World

05.29.2019 – In Metro Manila there have so many options for collectors to acquire their coveted toys ranging from diecast cars to high end actions figures. Local retail is fairly standard default option for anything that appears in every toy shelf in the country. But sometimes it’s quite a challenge if the one you looking for is sold out.

There are A LOT of specialty shops out there that offer the same toys, but sometimes the price is not about right. You’d be surprised that some of the toys that already disappeared in toy shelves end up in those stores, but not Babes Children’s World.

Babes Children’s World has been around in Virra Mall long enough to cater the same customers who purchased the toys in general retail. In fact they have the same suppliers that have what you see in these stores. But sometimes they have something that not the general retail has and it is a novelty to find them in a fair price.

Besides a range of Transformers toylines from Hasbro and Takara Tomy they also gave action figures from the sought after Marvel Legends line to the exclusive ones you don’t see on regular retail. This store never get enough notice in comparable to other specialty stores as they maintain for being ‘under the radar’ kind of shop.

Hole in a Wall Kind of Store

The usual collector or customer won’t hardly notice this store even predating the time Virra Mall was that haven where retro toys was a common thing that the area did not had a major makeover until the early 2010s when the place ageing and dilapidated.

Babes were one of the stores that have been there before Virra Mall became a modernized mall. There have been other stores that had the same age as this one, but this shop keeps it simple no frills that slowly became a back-up shop in case the toys that collectors usually hunt for are no longer available in the wild.

Babes Pre-Order Specials

What they also offer is the upcoming Siege figures for Omega Supreme and Jetfire. Besides those giants they are also letting you do a pre-order for the Transformers + Ghostbusters Ecto-1 for a minimum down payment.

SIEGE Titan Class Omega Supreme PhP 8,200.00 pesos
SIEGE Commander Cass Jetfire PhP 4,400 pesos
Collaborative Series Ectotron PhP 2,600 pesos

The Last Transformers Targetmaster LG-25 Hot Rod

Yesterday was an indication that the most sought after character from the Titan Masters is the Takara Tomy’s version of Hot Rod. Babes Children’s World had them before going for PhP 1,000 pesos ($27.60 AUD | $20.00 USD**) since April 2019 until news that blew a local Transformers community’s page that the same figure went on a clearance sale for PhP 500.00 pesos ($13.80 AUD | $9.60 USD**), where numerous sightings was posted.

In less than 24 to 48 hours all of the stocks for this aforementioned character has been sold out even the ones sighted in Alabang Town Center and Filivest Mall are gone. Babes Children’s World was the go to place as the last alternative until early this morning before lunch that the last figure was actually they have on their display.

Based on Ms. Ayhmie, the store’s staff they got word that there would be a restocked but as updated by her boss there are no longer any chance of getting the same figure. Most of the regular customers had them reserved already and this is the last LG-25.

Meanwhile at Toy Kingdom Virra Mall

Probably the next interesting figure that would be slowly leaving the toy shelves is Evolution Nemesis Prime for being an Amazon Exclusive and slightly different from the Optimus Prime version. But it won’t be that quick like LG-25 as there have been stories about this figure having issues though you’ll never know.

The Bumblebee Vol 1 Retro Rock Garage would be an interesting 3-pack besides having the gold Camaro version of the Autobot Hero you also includes two cassettes. But that would be sought after if the Beetle version with the other two cassettes were also available too although it would depend on anyone’s preference.
