TF Sightings | Landmark & TRU Glorietta

By now everyone is getting the first wave of WFC: Kingdom, which started appearing in local retail at the tail end of January 2021. But not all stores have it as most that get the stock are the ones that get foot traffic. With the pandemic continues in 2021 there will be stores that receive restocks. Though, not enough to fulfill the market in areas that still needs to have them.

In the stores in Makati City, there are quite a few that gets them on the shelves. Most of the first wave for WFC: Kingdom is broken up. Some of the highly sought after characters don’t actually make it to the display it is either that the product gets bought online or it was not included in the delivery. This is just an update on both stores with Landmark and Toys R’ Us in Glorietta...

The Transformers brand is still the hottest selling toyline for Hasbro globally with War for Cybertron: Kingdom slowly making it to retail and specialty shops there are not enough to fill up a complete wave for everyone. But that doesn’t mean Playkit Philippines is not trying. Surely, they know the demand is not only in Metro Manila but also in provincial areas in the country.

In Makati City alone, there are numerous stores that carry them, but not entirely complete as you’d expect. There are chances you’ll find all of them, but the ones you’re hoping to get are either limited per case or it’s that popular.

The Landmark

This department store never got much stock of the latest WFC: Kingdom, but if they do certainly the shelves gets immediately emptied out. However, there are still some Earthrise assortments that hardly noticed in area. But interest now is the first wave of Kingdom that is not in quantities.

Leader Class Optimus Prime, the carry-over from the Earthrise range gets repackaged in a WFC:Kingdom is considered the shelf-warmer for this assortment that came with Megatron (Beast). There’s no difference from the previous release other than the packaging and the special trading card that reveals the character’s future.

The usual suspects of being sold out for the Deluxe Class is Warpath and Cheetor, while for the Core Class is Rattrap, which has already been sold out. Vertebreak or Optimus Prime doesn’t much get the adoration. But these two figures are considered underrated if you have watched the reviews by US-based toy reviewer Peaugh on Youtube.

Toys R’ Us Glroeitta

This store had the most restock of War for Cybertron: Kingdom and Earthrise, but recent updates don’t happen immediately. Deluxe Class Warpath is already sold out even though this assortment had a price point increase. There is hope that Playkit Philippines would update this store due to the foot traffic location connecting to the Bridgeway going to Toy Kingdom.

The update so far is that Deluxe Class Cheetor is available again in this stores the same with Leader Class Megatron (Beast). You can still find an abundance of Leader Class Optimus Prime both in Earthrise and Kingdom packaging. You just have to pick which one you prefer. On the Earhtrise you get a piece of the map, while if you get Kingdom you get a special trading card. Previous Earthrise assortments can also be found here like Deluxe Class Trailbreaker. But for those still in the hunt for Rattrap you’ll be surprised that there are five of them here as of this report.

Generations Selects

Generation Select doesn’t get much attention as the mainline series, but if you’re still looking for Deep Cover you can find this character too as well as previous releases like Rotorstorm, Grease Pit, Exahust, and the Netflix Spoiler Pack featuring Ultra Magnus as these are rarely available in smaller TRU branches.

Hopefully, Playkit Philippines will continue to fill up the shelves for those that get sold out like the Voyager Class assortments for Cyclonus and Optimus Primal as well as a restock of Deluxe Class Warpath and Leader Class Megatron (Beast). These are the ones that move the first wave. In some regions outside the Philippines, there are already sightings of the second wave.

Studio Series 86 hasn’t made it yet to retail and only Leader Class Grimlock has been available, but has been immediately sold out. The specialty shops in Greenhills have been reported to have the first wave of Deluxe and Voyager Class, which were pre-orders. That’s really a tall order for the local distributor to ramp up, but slowly but surely everyone will get what they need amidst this pandemic.
