TF Sightings | TRU Greenbelt 5

02.14.2020 – At the height of the news that War For Cybertron: Siege Wave 4 Deluxe Class assortment has finally started to appear in Philippine retail in the past few days through group forums that was supposed to be available in the final quarter of 2019, but turns out what arrived was the final wave assortment.

The final wave assortment would turn out to be Crosshairs and Spinister. Eventually, Wave 4 started appearing in Australian and Malaysian retail. But that changed as sighting reports dated on 11 February 2020 that local Toys R’ Us stores have them already. But as of this sighting report they are slowly disappearing.

TF Sightings | TK Lucky Chinatown Mall

12.20.2019 – The festive season is almost here but for some who can’t find any new stuff on retail chances are there’s a ‘hole in the wall’ kind of store that has never been visited or have seen if there is a gem that you’re looking for. But then again with the horrid Manila traffic turning up to eleven there’s not enough time to get from A to B.

However, there are intrepid individuals out there that have been kind enough to make the trip by two wheels or on foot to get to that place. Of course, that place is Toy Kingdom’s Lucky Chinatown branch, which is located at the heart of Binondo that is rarely a location you’ll find the ones you are looking for namely Transformers toys!

TK New Release | Transformers Siege

12.30.2018 – Transformers Siege: the War for Cybertron Trilogy has dropped at Toy Kingdom flagship store in SM Megamall yesterday during their “Distribution Day.”

The first wave had made it to Philippine retail market for its pre-release since they opened their stores early in the day.

There were a lot of collectors looking for this first wave from this new trilogy that is unrelated to the videogame from eight years ago. The title “War For Cybertron” has been used before which was organically based from Activisions videogame set during the civil war in Cybertron, but this toyline is different…

Transformers Generations: Warpath

Presenting Transformers Generations: Warpath. I chanced upon Transformers Generations Warpath while trying to raise my spirits on a Saturday morning in Toy Kingdom in Powerplant Mall. So I got it for the local retail price of  PhP 699.75. It retails on the black-market for as much as PhP 1,400. Is it worth it at that price? In my opinion a resounding "NO!" But it is a nice figure to have. If you're buying it on e-bay or through the internet, you should know that there is a Transformers Universe Warpath that is Legends class but looks very similar to the Transformers Generations Warpath Deluxe class. So make sure you clear that before you commit to buying anything on the internet, you might end up with a small tiny figure (Which actually isn't so bad, keep it).

Transformers Generations: Wheeljack

Presenting the Hasbro version of Transformers Generations Wheeljack. One of the most famous and beloved Transformers, co-creator of the Dinobots, and one of the supposed holy grails of the Transformers Generations line is unfortunately nothing more than a re-tooling of Transformers Generations Tracks.

I was initially excited about getting Transformers Generations so you can imagine my disappointment to find out he was a re-tool.

In his defense though Transformers Generations Wheeljack's re-tooling is more than just a new head, accessories and a paint job, they gave him a new body-kit - a rear spoiler and a front spoiler/air dam. The final transformations are also different as tracks has to twist his lower torso to complete his transformation while Transformers Generations Wheeljack just splits his legs open and that's it. I purchased this particular figure on e-bay courtesy of Victoyoyoys for PhP 790 inclusive of shipping.

Darklord Dungeon Presents: Sergeant Kup from TF Generations

Presenting Sergeant Kup from Transformers Generations. This is the Transformers Generations version of Sergeant Kup, not the Japanese Transformers United version - which I personally think - given the metallic paint job and chrome finish - is worth buying more than the Transformers Generations version. I purchased Sergeant Kup from Victoyoyoys on e-bay Philippines for PhP 790 including shipping. It currently retails on E-Bay Philippines for around PhP 700. The Japanese Transformer United version retails on the Philippine black market for twice the price - around PhP 1,500

This is the most modern release of Sergeant Kup since his original release in 1986. While he is definitely a much more traditional representation than his 2009 Botcon box-set release (Where he was a repainted version of Transformers Cybertron Red Alert), purists of Sergeant Kup may end up disappointed in the fact that Sergeant Kup is not as true to his original look despite being in Transformers Generations - a line that has been trying to give a modern but relatively true to original  re-boot to the old Transformers toys - with a few exceptions (I suppose this is one of them). Conversely, some people will grow to appreciate this upgraded/modern look provided by Transformers Generations for Sergeant Kup.

Sneak Preview: Generations Thunderwing!

01.13.2011 - Thunderwing is one of the fifth wave of figures to come out from the 2010 Generations series. If anyone who's not familiar with this character, maybe you can check his full bio and story.

One of the most recognizables characters in the entire run in the United States published by Marvel Comics.

Thunderwing was the character every Transformer feared in the comics, and that's what makes him cool.

Possibly the only Decepticon who had opened the matrix of leadership.

Old Bot Kup Returns in Generations/United!

10.17.2010 - It’s been years or probably a decade since you’ve last seen an action figure named Kup. The Transformers Generations toyline has got the most news, and if you heard about it since they started with Classics and Universe 2.0 updates of the original G1 characters you bet there’s more to it.

Kup originally appearing in the 1986 Transformers: The Movie was basically a tip in the iceberg...
