TK New Release | Transformers Siege

12.30.2018 – Transformers Siege: the War for Cybertron Trilogy has dropped at Toy Kingdom flagship store in SM Megamall yesterday during their “Distribution Day.”

The first wave had made it to Philippine retail market for its pre-release since they opened their stores early in the day.

There were a lot of collectors looking for this first wave from this new trilogy that is unrelated to the videogame from eight years ago. The title “War For Cybertron” has been used before which was organically based from Activisions videogame set during the civil war in Cybertron, but this toyline is different…

After the Prime Trilogy (Combiner Wars, Titan Returns, and Power of the Primes) Hasbro rebooted the Generations toyline with the War For Cybertron Trilogy beginning with Siege which will probably tie-up with a new comic book series and possible a limited series animation that was streamed on Machinima YouTube channel and Go90 app.

It’s a fact that Hasbro is connecting with their older fans that started collecting the original G1 toys that they are now focusing on this range of Transformers for the older market. This line of collector’s edition separates itself from the other range of Transformers properties produced by the brand for the younger market, which also include the general consumer that are casual buyers of these assortments.

The first wave of Siege assortment became available Saturday and it won’t be displayed or available for the general public until sometime in January 2019. This means that these early release for the Philippine retail was announced exclusive only in community groups that has ties with Playkit Inc, the sole distributor for the Hasbro brand in the country. These “Distribution Day” events has been a common thing for almost a decade that is largely unannounced to the general public, which only got the news through word of mouth.

These toys were sold to everyone during the release and to purchase any of the assortments you need to sign up your name and contact details. There’s a set-up counter for these toys from the usual checkout beside the set-up table, where for each purchase you also take home a huge Toy Kingdom tote bag even if you only purchased one of the characters from the first wave.

For those who missed out on the “Distribution Day” the price points for each assortment have been revealed including the characters that were available:
