AVCon 2018 | Infinite Toys Adelaide

07.22.2018 –There is a rarity for proper retail accessibility when it comes to Transformers in other countries like Australia and some parts of Europe. There are often incomplete and skipped waves.

For some reason, there has not been a steady shelf space that has all the things local Aussies have dreamed about.

Transformers, for the most part, are seen in retail stores, depending on what stock Big W, Kmart, or even Target carries on their shelf. It’s not like a country like the Philippines has a constant flow of retail availability for the majority of the assortments being released.

The import releases produced by Takara Tomy are another story. Usually, a specialty shop carries them. In downtown Adelaide, there is one that carries imported products, and they do not have enough to supply that type of demand because the price point varies due to where they get their supply.

There was one independent seller who had a booth in the recently concluded Anime and Video Game Festival (AVCon) held at the Adelaide Centre. The owner said he was trying out the market for those interested in the things he plans to import for local South Australians. There were interesting assortments on display, and the majority of them are produced by Takara Tomy with their “United” toyline.

Also, they carry premium products like the Masterpieces, but the Takara Tomy-produced Generations are difficult to come by, and seeing them here at the show is something worth taking a second look at, but the prices are up to you to judge if it’s worth the spend than having it imported by yourself.

In case you have missed the opportunity to see their display in person, here are some photos you’ll find enticing below:

Besides Transformers, they also carry other collectibles like Star Wars, but the major draw here is the Japanese imports that are premium compared to their US-released counterparts, that’s available in Australian retail.
