These nefarious Renegades from the classic Hanna-Barbera series certainly would be an interesting addition to the growing Generations line of action figures that have WfC (War for Cybetron) and FoC (Fall of Cybertron) based from the videogames. Generations is not just about the classic characters from the Generation One series but also expands to the Challenge of the Gobots toy line that was originally imported by Tonka in the 1980s.
Challenge of the Gobots as some would recall was originally Machine Robo from Japan which is manufactured by Takara Tomy’s rival in Bandai makers of Gundam and other popular Super Robots.
Crasher is the second-in-command of the Renegades behind Cy-Kill and the first female villain character in Challenge of the Gobots. The Generations release is based on the Classics Mirage figure but has a slight retool of the head inspired by the classic character that originally transforms in to a Lemans Super Race Car.
The Renegade now transforms into a modified closed canopy Formula Race Concept Car now having a removable front aerofoil as a non-firing handheld weapon. Joe Kyde, associate product designer for Hasbro who did the color layouts for Crasher, which is based from an actual F-1 style racer.
Cop-Tur on the other hand will be downsized into a Mini-con Transformer and will be a sleeper agent to be partnered with an Elite Guard. This explains why he was paired up with an Autobot during the Golden Age of Cybertron, where Dion was reconstructed with a new body and a new partner in Cop-Tur.
When world of Gobotron was in peril these two Renegades where trying to cross to the Transformers Universe and had been changed from originally known as cyborg beings into becoming a Transformer as their origin and being released in the Generations series.
There’s no release date for these figures, but you’ll find out that previously Hasbro released a similar Crasher figure known as Fracture as a Wal-Mart Exclusive release in 2007. While Cop-Tur was part of the Timelines series accompanied by Dion, which was previously released as a free toy subscription for being a member of Transformers Collectors Club.
Now all Hasbro needs is to produce a Generations Cy-Kill to complete the Renegades, which would be unlikely since he gets killed in the comic books most of the time.
