TF Sightings | Earthrise Wave 2 at Toys R' Us!

There has been a slow build of updates of new Transformers toys in the retail front that some might not be updated. Lately, with the pandemic there was a pushback on the release of new case assortment of succeeding wave from War For Cybertron: Earthrise, though the allotted quantities were not enough they still keep arriving in spurts with all that they are still good news.

In the past weeks the figures has arrived like the Commander Class Sky Lynx and the Titan Class Scorponok is fully stocked now in major retail stores. This includes the Hasbro Selects exclusives that is only sold online can be seen on retail like Grease Pit, Exhaust, and the Micromaster Cassette which gives the locals this special opportunity.

With all that said the updates keeps rolling slowly but surely and reports not seeing some of them in retail stores is understandable due to the high demand that most consumers are now ordering and purchasing them online.

It’s a change in the dynamics on how consumers acquire these collectibles is not that new in other countries, but in the Philippines this is a major boom in the business that some in-demand items other than Transformers allotted to this rising digital marketplace that builds a bigger demand for local distributors to export them locally.

Selected Wave 2 Assortment

Local Toys R’ Us in the Philippines is usually the first retail to ever receive some of the selected assortments from Wave 2 namely the new Micromasters and Battle Masters that has already been available a few months sighting in countries sighted as far back in late August 2020 and as mentioned the slowdown was the obvious reason for the delay of availability in the Philippines.

There were no new Deluxe or Voyager Class assortments, but surely they will appear sooner than some think similar to how the second and third wave of SIEGE just suddenly appeared in TRU shelves as this was not the norm five years ago. But as the sayings, “Better late than never” seeing them.

Battle Masters and Micromasters

The first few waves of Battle Masters for EARTHRISE were basically a repackaging from SIEGE with no difference on the figure. But that doesn’t mean they’re just bridging the gap of the sub-series like Smashdown (tail end release from SIEGE) and the introduction of Soundnarrier.

Of course, this will happen again for Wave 2 with Rung, which was a fan favorite character from the IDW Comics that would be a second chance to acquire for this series when it was sighted along with new character Slither Fang.

This is different for the Micromasters as a new set of teams like the Race Track Patrol and Astro Squad has also been sighted that is a fresh new look of classic characters from the G1 vintage versions is a welcoming update to the TRU shelves.

Battle Masters | ₱449.75 Pesos ($12.95 AUD | $9.28 USD **)

Double Dealing Deception

There’s no surprise Double Dealer will be available to the local shores in the Philippines and his sighting certainly will give you some intimidation for the appearance and aesthetic of this character being at the front of the teaser trailer for Netflix’s War For Cybertron: EARTHRISE.

Some locals has already acquired this character and given a proper toy review a few weeks prior to its retail availability. It’s unfortunate that you can only find this figure assortment in single quantity meaning one per store. Surely, the Hasbro distributor for this country would bring in more as this character would certainly play an important role in the upcoming EARTHRISE series and expect Double Dealer to be sold out.
