Lately, there have been places left with no more Transformers brands on their shelf. It is not only with the strategy due to foot traffic it is the places that gets the amount of theft despite some of these stores are now fully staffed post-pandemic. There’s not much Transformers to go around these days because some of the retail store that carry them don’t control the One-Per Customer item.
But alas, there’s not much anyone can do about it since the local distributor is taking A LOT of hit due to the recent incidents in the past months since the global pandemic, and the rise of theft has resulted to scaling down the amount of product they have to selected few stores that continue to be consistent with the amount of customers.
The problem is there are not enough to go around, and if there’s enough they don’t control the people getting multiples, which creates an artificial shortage when these stores getting the new items should control the selling of these assortments for equal viable opportunity instead of the challenging difficult of getting newer Legacy assortments to everyone than in a specific community or group.
With that out of the way, the following assortment from Legacy Deluxe and Commander Class was sighted at Toy Kingdom at the posh and mostly out of way location in the city of Taguig…
Legacy | Wave 2
Deluxe Class | Retailed at: ₱ 1,899.00 Pesos [$ 49.05 AUD | $ 33.80 USD]**
- Elita-1 [2x Piece]
- Prime Universe Knockout [2x Piece]
- Predacon Tarantulas [2x Piece]
- Decepticon Wild Rider [SOLD OUT]
Commander Class | Retailed at: ₱ 6,899.00 Pesos [$ 167.87 AUD | $ 115.68 USD]**
- Decepticon Motormaster [2x Piece]
It’s not surprise despite carrying all-new Wave 2 assortments from the Legacy toyline having handful of stock is not enough to give enough collectors, and casuals the opportunity to get their hands on these items. It is really difficult to get them with the price change that took effect prior to the release of Legacy.
Back then in pre-pandemic levels it is not that challenging to track the new wave, and everyone still get to have the assortments. But with specialty shops offering pre-orders and some of those items that was purchase from retails shows up in other stores with a heftier price tag is literally changed the local landscape of toy collecting.
The local distributor should take a look at the numbers on who’s really collecting not just from local communities, but those who are casuals hoping to get their hands on the ones that are not actually rare.
For now, keep an eye on the local stores outside your area, and hopefully the distributor should not speak to just one community. But there are a majority out there at the same time put a clamp on those getting multiples.
