See Lightbringer, The Meralco Bot!

03.01.2014 – Transformers has a huge influence in culture and you have to look at it in a bigger picture. Some would only think about the comic books and the cartoons that built the brands rich history but outside of it there are others who share that “Fan Love.”

Take for instance is the Meralco robot that was first seen in 2010 during their annual Christmas light show. Meralco is an electric company that supplies power to Filipino homes in the Philippines and the only provider who has robot in their company grounds.

The robot’s name is Lightbringer but some call him as Bolts (English translation to Volts) after the company's professional basketball team which is inspired from Transformers, who turns into Meralco’s service pick up complete with all the bells and whistles.

Predominantly white with orange accents that matches the company’s colors. Bolts stands in his most basic pose who wears a yellow hard hat.

You can see Lightbringer stands at 20 feet guarding Meralco’s office grounds in Ortigas Center in Pasig City. It first was seen during Meralco’s celebrated week known as “Elevation” sometime in March 2010. No details on who 3was the sculptor who built this amazing robot inspired from Transformers.

Those who first witnessed Lightbringer have shared that he was built from actual car parts a Meralco service vehicle.
