04.16.2010 - If you haven't been to this year's Manila International Auto Show you must be stuck under a rock, and just raving about the toys you had recently acquired. There are very few true Transformers fans out there who might get excited about this year's car show. Fellow TF Fan Vince Nunez was at the MIAS 2010 event to check out what's the news around some Transformers-inspired real-life cars on display. He has to pass by and made everyone envious when he spotted Bumblebee at the Chevrolet exhibit display area minus the racing stripes getting enough attention to the public with that sultry clean yellow look... |
Besides the famous Camaro, he also saw a Generation One inspires Porsche 911 that Jazz has taken from in the original cartoon (it was a Posrche 935) parked at the extended custom section area with pristine white paint job that has a replicated livery of sponsors based on the real-life racing car in the 1970s. There were also a lot of cars of makes and models on display as well as female models standing beside the cars for some photo opportunities for event visitors.
Most notable cars on the show room floor are the Chevy Camaro, Ford GT40(Alternators/Binaltech Rodimus?), and the Porsche 911 (G1 Jazz). Subaru also unveiled its latest model with the Impreza, but it's no longer that familiar 2003 model inspired by the Alternator form of Silverstreak.
Cars and babes mix all together plus throw in some true blue TransFans then you got yourselves a kick-ass meet-up. This year's theme is Taking Motorists Into the Future and this show is not only for TransFans but as well as those who have an affinity and love for cars.
Addressing that need is the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), an annual venue for car buyers and enthusiasts to take a closer look at the latest models and significant concepts from the Philippines’ premiere automakers. The 2010 show is scheduled from 15 to 18 April at the World Trade Center, Roxas Boulevard,0000000000000 Pasay City. Manila Auto Show’s sixth year is expected to fortify its standing as the most all-embracing auto show in the country with this year’s theme: “Crossing Boundaries.”
The MIAS is the best venue to get good deals while looking for the ideal car, a convenient venue where people can immediately compare and contrast their prospective purchases. Exclusive auto loans sponsor PS Bank will offer some of the best deals for car buyers who want to purchase their new vehicles on the show floor. An annual venue for car buyers and motoring enthusiasts, it also hosts separate competitions for custom and classic cars as well as custom and classic motorbikes. MIAS is the Philippines’ biggest motor show in terms of visitor count, cars on display, and exhibitors – a world automotive exhibition held every summer since 2005. If it runs on diesel, gasoline, unleaded, biofuel, electricity, or even a hybrid --it’s sure to be there.
It also serves as an educational venue for children interested in the workings of automobiles –and parents who are auto enthusiasts often take them to see Russ Swift, a precision driver known for his tight J-turns and meticulously planned stunts. The second-generation solar car produced by DLSU (SIKAT) is also on display, along with other noteworthy exhibits: vintage vehicles, 20 to 25 big bikes on display, a party van/bus, classic and new-generation Mini Coopers and Chevrolet’s Cruze Touring Car. There will be the MIAS Custom and Classic Car competition where the Best of Show winner gets tickets for two to go watch the Malaysian Formula 1. There will also be a custom bike competition, as well as a photo competition by Nikon.
If you got nothing to do this weekend come drop by the World Trade Center. The entrance fee is only PhP 50.00 pesos and you get to see Optimus Prime too.
